A downloadable game for Windows and macOS


Hardcore parkour takes place within the character’s computer. It is an adventure platformer game within a fictional game. Sometimes the business of life can be too much and a small get away could be nice.  In this case of our character, VR is just that option. All he has to do is come home, finish out his tasks, lay down, and then put on his headset. It is a small chance to see a new world. That experience is the reason for why he chose to.

Features

Hardcore Parkour finely balances on the line of escapism while still being grounded in a reality.

There are different worlds and themes to explore, created in a way for you the player to fully enjoy in your own pace. 

Things such as a small forest hiding a calming picture, or the snapshot of a  city at night are all at the player’s figure tips to explore. Of course this could be done in a blur or slowly.  

An advancement system with levels designed specifically for it.

A stylized lighting system and design elements found from various parts of the world.

A letter grade system to provide a competitive element to those who may be interested.

The player has access to multiple tools like jumping, wall running, sliding, and ball throwing!


Player Character

The player’s character (codename runner) is your normal everyday human being. He lives a simple life and is not on some crazy heist. He is a just a young guy that just likes to dream as much as the other person.  Him putting on the headset and diving into the game is just a step to get closer to such a reality.


Levels 

Forest Level The forest level is the first level of the game. Its artistic design is organic shapes and is supposed to be the counterpart to Night City. The actual level layout is also very horizontal giving the player a chance to get more familiar with the sliding mechanic.  The level features ground traps that a player can fall into if they are not prepared to jump or slide too far. 

Night City

Night city is consisting of mainly inorganic shapes to represent the artistic design of mankind, compared to the nature filled forest level.  Even though backtracking is allowed during gameplay, Night city contains doors that block off a player after they have reached a certain point. (Currently after they get through the lobby and onto the roof) The level layout is also very vertical, creating more space for a player to get creative as the pathing is not as linear as the forest level. (This is also considered to be level 2)

Shipping Center

 In order to create the idea that other people could in theory play, shipping center contains completely different themes from the other two levels. It features enemies and a dark overtone to represent a different side to the system we have created. This is considered the third level and can be thought of as the “if we provided build your own level tools what would someone do?”

 Hub

The hub is the tutorial zone of the game. It has a blank theme to symbolize its importance as a starting point. This allows backs up the idea of “this is a video game of a video game” as the tutorial level is always known for being very “basic”. The hub itself will have three separate areas that the player can use to test the universal mechanics.  The actual levels will also be found against the individual walls.  Level 1 to the left, Level 2 in front of the player, and Level 3 to the right. 


Gameplay Controls

Gameplay can be broken down into 3 categories:

  • Basic movement
    • W – Forward
    • A – Left
    • S – Reverse
    • D - Right
      • Advance movement
        • Left Shift (not moving)- Crouch
        • Left Shift - Slide  
        • Space - Jump
          • Ball system
            • M1 - Throw
            • M2 - Recall
